THE STORY BEHIND THE COLLECTOR

It all started with a conversation between friends and a seemingly simple question: to create something really different.<br>The starting point was to think about what could be interesting for someone who had seen and studied thousands of watches. The answer appeared when observing the dial as one of the great spaces of expression of watchmaking.<br>Over time, different eras have developed their own ways of representing and facilitating the reading of the hours. Roman numerals, Arabic, indexes and geometries are part of this evolution and serve as the common thread of the project.<br>The collection recovers these historical codes, but avoids treating them as untouchable elements. WHEN TWO LANGUAGES BECAME ONE

What happens when watchmaking breaks its own rules?<br><br>In 1941, Rolex filed a patent for a rare dial that combined Roman numerals, Arabic numerals, and geometric hour markers within a single design.<br><br>Later known as the "Error-Proof" dial, the contrast between its various visual elements created an original and highly legible way of reading the time. This style would also appear on historic military watches during the 1940s. <br><br>Interestingly, the name "California dial" came much later and began to be associated with this design decades after its creation.<br> **The Collector California** celebrates that same idea: different visual languages coming together to create something unexpected.

At the heart of every The Collector is a Swiss Sellita SW200-1b automatic movement, chosen for its precision, reliability and watchmaking tradition. A 26-jewel mechanism that works at 28,800 vibrations per hour, offering a fluid and precise movement. Its exposed caseback allows you to directly contemplate the mechanics that give life to the watch. Swiss mechanics for a collection designed to be enjoyed and collected.

CODES FOUND

In the CALIFORNIA watch, Roman and Arabic numerals coexist on the same dial alongside circles, squares and coloured geometric shapes. Three different visual codes combine to create a deliberately unconventional composition.<br />The numerals and figures present volume and depth, while the blue hands run along the dial creating a new level within the composition. The color reinforces the graphic character of each element and makes the reading of the hours part of the design itself.<br />The result is a dynamic, balanced and recognisable dial, where tradition, geometry and colour meet a common language.<br />A contemporary and free interpretation of the characteristic California dial.

STEEL, PRECISION AND STRENGTH

The steel case and bracelet combine polished and brushed surfaces to enhance every line of the watch. The fluted bezel adds character and reinforces its presence on the wrist, while the screw-down crown ensures a secure closure. Its construction offers a water-resistance of 10 ATM, ready to accompany you in daily use. Solidity, precision and careful finishes in every detail.
