Juan Sebastián Elcano
90TH ANNIVERSARY
Together with the Spanish Navy, we have developed this beautiful watch to commemorate the 90 years of this great ship.

A design that commemorates its 90th anniversary
DESIGNING THE JUAN SEBASTIÁN DE ELCANO WATCH – LIMITED EDITION –.
When we got down to designing, we focused on the main materials of the boat:
WOOD- BRONZE-STEEL-SHIP SAILS
When designing the dial, we aimed to evoke billowing sails caught in the wind, creating a curved dial reminiscent of a ship’s helm. The deck of the ship is symbolized on the dial and on the outer part of the case, which posed a technical challenge that we are proud of and that looks extraordinary.

The Juan Sebastian Elcano watch, created by Colomer & Sons, is a piece of artistic watchmaking that is technically perfect, combining all the romance surrounding this magnificent vessel that continues to circumnavigate the globe.

The Kings of Spain
Alfonso XIII, Juan Carlos I, and Felipe VI are the main officers who completed their training on the ship Juan Sebastián De Elcano.

THE MOVEMENT
It’s not easy to choose a reliable movement manufacturer, but after over 10 years of experience working with most Swiss, Japanese, and Chinese mechanical movements, we reached a conclusion: Japanese Miyota mechanical movements are as good as Swiss ones, but with a better price point, making them more affordable for customers.

MANUFACTURING
We manage the entire manufacturing process, from the initial designs created in our Madrid office, to production and sample assembly, using the finest materials and components we can find to build timeless watches. The training ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano is a vessel of the Spanish Navy. It is a four-masted topsail schooner with 20 sails and a steel hull. With a length of 113 meters, it is the third largest tall ship in the world, and it holds the record for the sailing vessel that has traveled the farthest, covering over 2,000,000 nautical miles (3,700,000 km / 2,300,000 miles) in its history.
The ship is named after the Spanish explorer Juan Sebastián Elcano, captain of the last expedition of Fernando Magallanes, and the man who led the first circumnavigation of the world. The ship also carries the Elcano coat of arms, which was granted to the family by Emperor Carlos I after Elcano’s return in 1522 from Magallanes global expedition. The coat of arms features a terrestrial globe with the motto ‘Primus Circumdedisti Me’ (meaning: ‘First to circumnavigate me’)
